Writer's Block: Love This Artist
Edgar Degas; mainly his Ballerina Paintings of the 1870s. They are fantastic.I have been fascinated with his work since I was 16 and have managed to see my favourite piece of his work in the Musee D'Orsay in Paris, it is entitled, ''Ballet Rehearsal On Stage,1874.'' It is and was utterly fantastic;I was like a child at Christmas seeing that painting!! lol I also am inspired by what an elderly French artist told Degas when he was a young painter starting out, which was, ''To draw lines, many lines and then you shall be a great artist.'' Degas took this to heart and you can see in his Impressionistic work and drawings the use of lines. I took this to heart and my drawings use many lines and my work uses many lines superficially as in whilst researching for an art project I ''draw lines'' to many different modes of research.
